Polyphemus rough concept

This semester I am working on my thesis which consists of certain characters and environments from Homer's epic poem, "The Odyessey".

This is a rough concept for Polyphemus, the cyclops Odysseus encounters and eventually blinds. Polyphemus is also a demigod as his father is Posieden.

This is still in the very beginning stages of concept (the semester just started ). One of the first things that is going to be changed is his eye needs to be smaller. The instructor and amazing illustrator mentoring me in this directed studies course ( [link] ) has told me before that big eyes equal cute and not scary, but I fell back on old bad habits. Trying to kick bad habits is hard

And, yes, this is the upteenth concept and since that's what my thesis consist of that is probably what most of my post will be (but not all, I need some illustrations for the thesis project too).
